In 2022, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $1,264 per ton, increasing by 107% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The import price peaked at $1,950 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Based on 2022 figures, grapes; fresh or dried export price decreased by -14.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,009 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($2,356 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($952 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Grapes; fresh or dried imports into the United Arab Emirates fell markedly to 100K tons in 2022, declining by -16.1% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 169%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 119K tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
