In September 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried export price amounted to $1,246 per ton, surging by 3.6% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated modest growth from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, grapes; fresh or dried export price decreased by -27.9% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 21% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,762 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,740 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($773 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $1,716 per ton, falling by -23.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,237 per ton, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($5,000 per ton), while the price for Iran ($1,461 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Turkey
In 2022, exports of grapes; fresh or drieds from Turkey contracted to 502K tons, reducing by -3.7% against the previous year. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 11%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 521K tons, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, grapes; fresh or dried exports dropped slightly to $655M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 1.7% against the previous year.
