Price for Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $1,185 per ton, reducing by -13.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,890 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($1,401 per ton), while the price for Iran ($920 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average grapes; fresh or dried export price stood at $1,647 per ton in 2022, which is down by -41.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 71%. The export price peaked at $2,836 per ton in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($2,570 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($800 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Ukraine

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of grapes; fresh or drieds, when their volume decreased by -32.5% to 50K tons. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 74K tons, and then fell markedly in the following year.
