Price for Graphite; Natural, in Powder or in Flakes in China (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for graphite; natural, in powder or in flakeses stood at $1,649 per ton in June 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,118 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,755 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($614 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for graphite; natural, in powder or in flakeses stood at $718 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 75%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,193 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,646 per ton), while the price for Mozambique ($659 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+21.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
