The average import price for graphite; natural, in powder or in flakeses stood at $1,375 per ton in August 2023, rising by 16% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +6.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 29% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in August 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($57,885 per ton), while the price for China ($1,775 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+64.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
