In 2022, the average import price for hydrogen, rare gases and other non-metalses amounted to $2.4 per cubic meter, picking up by 31% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 140%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2.5 per cubic meter in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +10.2% per year.

Overall, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 89%. The export price peaked at $2.4 per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($1 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Tanzania stood at $0.6 per cubic meter.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Rwanda (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
