Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,029 per ton in May 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($13,273 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burkina Faso ($2,230 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
