The average import price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $2,615 per ton in 2022, rising by 16% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 23%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,928 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,553 per ton, and then shrank dramatically in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,602 per ton), while the average price for exports to Montenegro ($1,940 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
