In 2022, the average import price for iron or steel; cast articleses amounted to $1,932 per ton, declining by -3.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,014 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($6,858 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($707 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($2,265 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($691 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
