The average export price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $3,993 per ton in June 2023, declining by -3.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 24% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,146 per ton in May 2023, and then declined in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($7,607 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3,024 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,146 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($7,730 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
