In 2022, the average import price for iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira amounted to $4,348 per ton, rising by 2.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 26%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,046 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($3,065 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira amounted to $5,178 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $6,232 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($21,976 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($3,966 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Iron or Steel Cast Fittings, Other than of Non-Malleable Cast Iron in Serbia
In 2022, overseas purchases of iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira decreased by -7.8% to 1.2K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +44.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.3K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, imports of iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira dropped to $5.1M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $5.4M, and then declined in the following year.

For the third year in a row, Serbia recorded decline in overseas shipments of iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira, which decreased by -28.6% to 59 tons in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a dramatic downturn. The smallest decline of -0.7% was in 2020.
In value terms, exports of iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast ira shrank rapidly to $307K in 2022. In general, exports showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 8.7%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $555K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.
