In October 2023, the average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses amounted to $1,023 per ton, with a decrease of -19.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 22% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,632 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($3,714 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($911 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (-4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses amounted to $3,327 per ton, with an increase of 1.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $6,779 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($45,778 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($1,424 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+99.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
