In September 2022, the average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses amounted to $6,557 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 70% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $21,591 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($14,003 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($4,259 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses stood at $7,488 per ton in September 2022, surging by 32% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated buoyant growth from January 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.1% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, export price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses increased by +31.9% against August 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when the average export price increased by 81% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,755 per ton. From May 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($27,038 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+44.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses increased by 5.9% to 2.4K tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible reduction.
