In 2022, the average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses amounted to $2,106 per ton, shrinking by -20.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 29%. The import price peaked at $7,594 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, the export price recorded a significant expansion. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($98,484 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic stood at $17,767 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
