Price for Lead; Waste and Scrap in Costa Rica (FOB) - 2022

The average lead; waste and scrap export price stood at $1,294 per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, lead; waste and scrap export price increased by +18.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 73% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,011 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was El Salvador ($873 per ton), while the price for the United States stood at $399 per ton.
