The average lead; waste and scrap export price stood at $1,534 per ton in 2022, increasing by 5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 39%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,028 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($2,143 per ton), while the average price for exports to India stood at $1,080 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tanzania (+16.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
