The average import price for liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes stood at $716 per ton in December 2023, reducing by -8.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $820 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the Philippines ($820 per ton) and South Korea ($805 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($632 per ton) and Thailand ($724 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (-0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
