Price for Liquefied Ethylene, Propylene, Butylene and Butadiene in Slovenia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes amounted to $1,688 per ton, surging by 8.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 624% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,369 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,943 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($7,307 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+18.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 81% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $233,124 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($46,705 per ton), while the price for Italy ($6,204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+17.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
