The average import price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes stood at $1,105 per ton in November 2023, falling by -2.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a modest increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 639% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $9,213 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,002 per ton), while the price for Algeria ($819 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the export price showed a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 671% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $14,660 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($9,781 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($891 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a dramatic shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 9.6%.
