The average import price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes stood at $816 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 87% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $886 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($8,768 per ton), while the price for Italy ($1,334 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes increased by +5.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 38%. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sri Lanka (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the amount of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes imported into Kuwait declined rapidly to 62 tons, which is down by -23.7% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports faced a precipitous curtailment. The smallest decline of -22.8% was in 2020.
