In November 2023, the average import price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes amounted to $482 per ton, increasing by 3.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $577 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($511 per ton), while the price for Russia stood at $481 per ton.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 17% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $638 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Ukraine ($629 per ton) and Estonia ($551 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($467 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($512 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth consecutive year, Latvia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes, which increased by 33% to 95K tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 30%.
