In 2022, the average import price for lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses amounted to $3,424 per ton, growing by 2.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 8.5%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,089 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($12,261 per ton), while the price for the UK ($2,130 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses stood at $2,286 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses decreased by -2.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,345 per ton in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($9,099 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($939 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
