In July 2023, the average import price for lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses amounted to $3,878 per ton, shrinking by -2.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, posted temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 52% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,995 per ton in June 2023, and then declined modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($5,883 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,881 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses stood at $4,754 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 63% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $12,697 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Thailand ($5,239 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($4,508 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($3,807 per ton) and Sri Lanka ($4,375 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the amount of lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses imported into Pakistan surged to 30K tons, growing by 41% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports recorded a significant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of lubricating oil additives; containing petroleum oils or oils obtained from bituminous mineralses surged to $76M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.4% over the last three-year period.
