The average import price for machines and mechanical appliances; parts, of those having individual functionses stood at $23,007 per ton in 2022, falling by -29.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $44,311 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($132,458 per ton), while the price for China ($9,618 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 when the average export price increased by 27% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $13,452 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($37,680 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($3,069 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
