In February 2023, the average import price for manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxides amounted to $3,953 per ton, increasing by 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 45% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,651 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to February 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From March 2022 to February 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -0.2% per month.

In 2022, the average export price for manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxides amounted to $815 per ton, picking up by 2.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $909 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Venezuela ($1,426 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($589 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Venezuela (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Manganese Oxides; Excluding Manganese Dioxide in Mexico
In 2022, approx. 807 tons of manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxides were imported into Mexico; picking up by 5% compared with the previous year. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.9M; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Overall, exports continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 44%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.6K tons, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxide exports fell to $2.5M in 2022. In general, exports showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36% against the previous year.
