In July 2023, the average import price for manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxides amounted to $873 per ton, declining by -10.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,433 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,741 per ton), while the price for Norway ($733 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxides stood at $1,065 per ton in July 2023, rising by 37% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild curtailment. The export price peaked at $1,432 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Guyana ($2,529 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($680 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Manganese Oxides; Excluding Manganese Dioxide in the Netherlands
Manganese oxides; excluding manganese dioxide imports into the Netherlands declined to 17K tons in 2022, which is down by -7.9% against the year before.
