The average import price for maps, atlases, topographical plans and hydrographic or similar charts, printed in the book form stood at $10,590 per ton in 2022, dropping by -40% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 516% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $40,364 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($7,321 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+17.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
