Price for Marble and Travertine Crude in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average marble and travertine crude export price amounted to $147 per ton, waning by -9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $201 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($512 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($68 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average marble and travertine crude import price amounted to $234 per ton, falling by -16.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 68% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $285 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($469 per ton), while the price for Iran ($220 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by North Macedonia (+23.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
