Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Denmark (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $6,233 per ton, surging by 3.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $6,879 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iceland ($13,096 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($3,870 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iceland (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $9,361 per ton in July 2023, rising by 8.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 26% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $9,870 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($17,470 per ton), while the price for Germany ($6,653 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Exports of Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Denmark
In 2022, overseas shipments of meat of bovine animals; frozen decreased by -21.9% to 11K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +38.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 14K tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, meat of bovine animals; frozen exports rose markedly to $74M in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 68%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
