Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Germany (CIF) - 2023

The average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $6,937 per ton in July 2023, approximately equating the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 12% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,000 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Uruguay ($12,145 per ton), while the price for the UK ($1,984 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $7,153 per ton in July 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $7,695 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($24,960 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,121 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
