Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $5,522 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2021 an increase of 13% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,536 per ton in February 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2021.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices from Denmark ($5,538 per ton) and Japan ($5,538 per ton), while the price for Spain ($5,372 per ton) and Canada ($5,473 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $4,749 per ton, declining by -3.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,670 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($6,681 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
