Overall, the import price saw a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 16% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $821 per cubic meter. From May 2023 to March 2024, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($849 per cubic meter), while the price for Luxembourg ($356 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In March 2024, the average export price for medium density fibreboard (MDF) of thickness over 9 mm amounted to $340 per cubic meter, with a decrease of -3.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $409 per cubic meter in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to March 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($451 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($274 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
