The import price peaked at $509 per cubic meter in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to March 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($438 per cubic meter), while the price for Poland amounted to $424 per cubic meter.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (-0.2%).

The average export price for medium density fibreboard (MDF) of thickness under 5 mm stood at $442 per cubic meter in 2022, surging by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for medium density fibreboard (MDF) of thickness under 5 mm increased by +76.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 51% against the previous year.
