In December 2023, the average import price for metals; iridium, osmium, ruthenium, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $34.7M per ton, rising by 4.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 65% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $35.6M per ton in February 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($113M per ton), while the price for Italy ($24.5M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for metals; iridium, osmium, ruthenium, unwrought or in powder forms stood at $111M per ton in December 2023, shrinking by -31.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 245% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $164M per ton in November 2023, and then contracted sharply in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($150M per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($15.1M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
