In April 2024, the average import price for metals; rhodium, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $99.5M per ton, waning by -30.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2024 when the average import price increased by 31% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $279M per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to April 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($146M per ton), while the price for South Africa ($88.7M per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (-4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($180M per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($37.2M per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of metals; rhodium, unwrought or in powder forms, when their volume decreased by -3.2% to 16 tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
