In September 2023, the average import price for mollusc preparations; abalone, prepared or preserveds amounted to $23,023 per ton, surging by 213% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a tangible increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 271% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $59,144 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($69,678 per ton), while the price for China stood at $22,382 per ton.

From January 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
