The average import price for mollusc preparations; mussels, prepared or preserveds stood at $3,647 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 6.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 10% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,751 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Chile.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Ireland amounted to +7.0% per month.

The export price peaked at $7,860 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the Dominican Republic ($13,519 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($4,787 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
