The average import price for mollusc preparations; mussels, prepared or preserveds stood at $4,194 per ton in August 2023, falling by -3.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 60% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,389 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($5,173 per ton), while the price for Chile ($2,961 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
