In 2022, the average export price for molluscs; octopus (octopus spp.), live, fresh or chilleds amounted to $4,072 per ton, declining by -9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 74%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,510 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($4,166 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,250 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
