In 2022, the average molybdenum; waste and scrap export price amounted to $16,884 per ton, rising by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $20,020 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to the United States ($17,439 per ton) and Germany ($17,372 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($12,010 per ton) and Belgium ($15,475 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
