The average import price for mono-, di- or tri-chloroacetic acids; propionic, butanoic and pentanoic acids and their salts and esters stood at $2,906 per ton in September 2022, declining by -41.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 64% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4,945 per ton in August 2022, and then dropped notably in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($9,462 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,718 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+15.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for mono-, di- or tri-chloroacetic acids; propionic, butanoic and pentanoic acids and their salts and esters stood at $3,172 per ton in September 2022, waning by -6.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 36% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,650 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($4,519 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($2,531 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
