Over the period from December 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,933 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Romania ($5,892 per ton), while the price for Spain ($3,474 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $7,332 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($8,249 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($2,763 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, purchases abroad of mushrooms and truffles of the genus "agaricus" was finally on the rise to reach 3.1K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump.
