The average export price for new pneumatic tyres, of rubbers stood at $51 per unit in 2022, growing by 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $57 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($59 per unit) and Belarus ($58 per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($43 per unit) and Greece ($43 per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for new pneumatic tyres, of rubbers stood at $80 per unit in 2022, rising by 7.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, faced a deep contraction. The import price peaked at $401 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($143 per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($18 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (-7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

For the fourth consecutive year, Serbia recorded growth in purchases abroad of new pneumatic tyres, of rubbers, which increased by 6.6% to 2M units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, new pneumatic tyres, of rubber imports rose sharply to $156M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 27%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
