In April 2024, the average export price for newspapers, journals and periodicals, appearing at least four times a week amounted to $7,640 per ton, dropping by -20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2024 when the average export price increased by 145% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,597 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to April 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($15,050 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam stood at $590 per ton.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+41.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $7,835 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
