In 2022, the average import price for newspapers, journals and periodicals, appearing at least four times a week amounted to $3,592 per ton, waning by -70.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed pronounced growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 248%. The import price peaked at $18,391 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+32.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
