In April 2024, the average import price for newspapers, journals and periodicals, appearing at least four times a week amounted to $15,119 per ton, rising by 6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $21,566 per ton. From August 2023 to April 2024, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was Andorra ($26,160 per ton), while the price for Germany ($11,332 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (-0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2024 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $3,695 per ton in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to April 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($4,179 per ton), while the average price for exports to Andorra stood at $2,716 per ton.
From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Senegal (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
