In 2022, the average import price for newspapers, journals and periodicals appearing less frequently than four times a week amounted to $2,509 per ton, waning by -17.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 59% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,522 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($4,446 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($189 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
