The average import price for newspapers, journals and periodicals appearing less frequently than four times a week stood at $7,281 per ton in April 2024, with a decrease of -22.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2024 when the average import price increased by 52% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $10,810 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to April 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Colombia ($11,348 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($4,441 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
