In April 2024, the average import price for newspapers, journals and periodicals appearing less frequently than four times a week amounted to $12,563 per ton, rising by 160% against the previous month. Overall, the import price posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2024 when the average import price increased by 272% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $13,760 per ton. From March 2024 to April 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was the UK ($14,782 per ton), while the price for Norway stood at $1,809 per ton.
