The average import price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $45,961 per ton in September 2023, declining by -9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 12% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $50,978 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($97,697 per ton), while the price for Australia ($26,231 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average export price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires amounted to $33,917 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 3% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $35,980 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Brazil ($49,285 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($23,686 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
